Job Description Role Responsibilities
  • Manages a team of professionals. Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise within buying/procurement.
  • Requires commercial awareness and demonstrated commodity management and experience with large and complex supplier accounts and procurements.
  • Accountability for partnership with transactional operation partners (i.e. the Procurement Operations Center, POC) who are performing procurement-related activities on your supplier accounts
  • Leads and oversees the team's execution of supplier selection, proposals and quotes, quote analysis, negotiation, business approvals, supply awards, and contract authoring for parts procured outside of long-term agreements, stepping into high-impact or escalated situations as needed.
  • Owns overall supplier order health across the team's portfolio of supplier accounts, setting strategy, reviewing health metrics, and directing the team on priorities and risk mitigation actions.
  • Ensures the team partners effectively with supplier teams and procurement operations to meet all compliance requirements for sourcing and procurement activities, establishing standard work and controls to sustain compliance.
  • Establishes and manages effective routines for triaging supplier questions, issues, and requests across assigned supplier accounts, ensuring timely resolution by the team and personally managing escalated or sensitive matters.
  • Sponsors and prioritizes projects related to part procurement and technical changes requiring supplier engagement, assigning project leadership within the team and ensuring cross-functional alignment and timely execution.
  • Maintains and shares market awareness and an in-depth understanding of key business drivers to shape commodity and supplier account strategies, guiding the team's supplier selection and negotiation approaches.
  • Leads and facilitates ideation of contractual and commercial solutions to improve contract performance and total cost of ownership, reviewing and approving key proposals developed by the team.
  • Applies technical knowledge, collaboration, and sound judgment to guide the team in resolving complex issues, serving as the escalation point for more challenging or strategic problems.
  • Provides formal leadership, coaching, and development to Supplier Account Managers, including onboarding, skills development, and ongoing feedback to build team capability.
  • Sets clear performance expectations for the team, manages performance and accountability, and routinely handles sensitive and high-visibility issues with suppliers and internal stakeholders on behalf of the organization.
  • Role may require up to 10% travel
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years Sourcing/Buying/Procurement or relevant Supply Chain role experience)
  • Minimum of 5 years Sourcing/Buying/Procurement or relevant Supply Chain role experience
