General Statement of Duties

This employee performs professional level work which involves a high degree of independent judgment and responsibility in the administration of the City. Strong project management skills are required in the ownership and administration of cross-departmental efforts driving operational improvement. High performance in executive-level communication and management of program level strategy is necessary.

Responsibilities include maintaining liaison with various City departments and performing staff work which may involve administrative and operational analysis, budget preparation and administration, management or organizational studies, and other related administrative duties. Performs related duties as assigned.

The Department

The Office of Performance and Data Analytics is a small, fast-paced team charged with creating data solutions, process design & improvement, and performance management across all City departments. The office focuses on the following key initiatives:

Data Solutions:
Use data processing, data transformation and dashboard/report building to support data driven decisions across City departments and support effective performance management.

Cincy Insights:
An interactive open data dashboard portal, designed to make open data more user friendly and interactive for all users.

Open Data Portal:

The City's web portal to which datasets are published daily (or more often, for some datasets).

Continuous Improvement:
Focused on solving complex problems across multiple departments, utilizing data and design thinking to partner with key stakeholders to address some of the City's most challenging operational and customer service issues.

Performance Management:
Facilitating the City's program for the strategic approach to performance management, including department specific service catalogs, annual department performance agreements, program and service evaluations, and the strategic monitoring and accountability cadence that brings each of these components together to form a holistic approach to City-wide performance management.

Strategic Initiative Execution Team:
The City's program for effectively managing cross-departmental projects for driving operational improvement.

Your Role

OPDA is currently hiring a Senior Management Analyst to further support the work of our team. Successful candidates for the above roles should have the following demonstrated skills and abilities:

Fully understand and accurately represent operational realities through data analysis by building relationships with department heads, division managers, frontline employees, and other city employees.
