POSITION DESCRIPTION

AGAR is looking for an experienced Operations Manager with 5+ years in experiential marketing, event operations, and brand activation. In this role, the Operations Manager will oversee the smooth execution of back‑of‑house event production operations for live brand experiences. The ideal candidate will ensure that resources are effectively allocated, on time, and in the right place to meet both client and company expectations.

Key responsibilities include asset management, warehousing, vendor and fabricator coordination, sourcing supplies, budgeting and booking and training on‑site support staff.

The Operations Manager will also assist the Director of Operations in creating strategies and processes to maintain and improve internal operational excellence. Including facilities, labor staffing HR/training/safety, analysis of competitors and industry trends, bandwidth and project management tracking resources and implementation.

The Operations Manager will yield desired results through the following phases per project:

Strategy: Identify event operations needs based on client brief and KPIs including resources, equipment and supplies needed. Create budgets for client approval.

Roadmap: Based on project scope, collaborate with production and client services teams to develop plans for executional efficiencies and set tasks and deadlines within the critical path workbook.

Execution: Procure, train, deploy and manage resources and supplies needed to execute each experience. Manage shipping and receiving of assets at the warehouse and oversee quality assurance of back‑of‑house operations on‑site. Provide progress updates and solutions in client and project meetings.

Recap: Evaluate efficiency and sufficiency of resources used. Present ideas for future improvements and scalable opportunities. Create playbooks as guides for future work.

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • BS/BA in related field and 5+ years relevant experience in event production
  • Self‑starter who can independently identify and utilize diverse resources to meet deadlines and expectations
  • Able to multi‑task, prioritize, adapt and plan effectively in a dynamic, creative a fast‑paced environment
  • Technical thinker who is organized and detail oriented
  • Agile and calm under pressure
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Experienced in project management software systems, Microsoft Office, GSuite, and Mac products.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, pass a background check and have a clean driving record. Comfortable driving trucks up to 26’ and can operate a lift gate
  • Ability to lift 50lbs solo / up to 200lb group lift
  • Experience in warehousing, freight transportation logistics, and inventory management a plus
