EMS Dispatch Supervisor - Evening and Night Shift

Pay Range: $22-$24/hr

Shift Options: Evening 2-10pm and 10pm-6am

Lynx EMS provides private ambulance services for smooth, dependable patient transport to local area hospitals from various locations, including homes, emergency rooms, long-term care, skilled nursing, assisted living facilities, psychiatric hospitals, and hospice care. Position Summary

The EMS Dispatch Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Communications Center, ensuring the efficient coordination of emergency and non-emergency medical transportation services. This position provides leadership, guidance, and support to dispatch personnel while maintaining high standards of customer service, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and employee performance. The Dispatch Supervisor serves as the primary resource for dispatch staff and collaborates closely with field operations, healthcare facilities, and customers to ensure timely and effective service delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead dispatch personnel during assigned shifts.
  • Monitor call volume, unit status, and deployment to maximize operational efficiency and response times.
  • Ensure appropriate allocation of EMS resources based on call priority, coverage, and service commitments.
  • Provide real-time operational support and decision-making during high-volume or critical incidents.
  • Assist dispatchers with complex calls, escalated customer concerns, and operational challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, HIPAA, state EMS regulations, and applicable accreditation standards.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of dispatch calls, radio communications, and documentation.
  • Investigate service delays, customer complaints, communication issues, and operational incidents.
  • Complete incident reports and recommend corrective actions when appropriate.
  • Assist with scheduling, staffing, attendance management, and overtime coverage.
  • Train, mentor, coach, and evaluate dispatch personnel.
  • Participate in employee onboarding, continuing education, and competency assessments.
  • Coordinate communication between field crews, hospitals, healthcare facilities, and customers.
  • Maintain accurate operational records, reports, and performance metrics.
  • Monitor system performance and recommend workflow improvements.
  • Participate in disaster response, emergency management, and business continuity planning.
  • Ensure communications equipment and dispatch systems remain operational by reporting technical issues promptly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of EMS dispatch, public safety dispatch, or emergency communications experience.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of EMS operations, medical transportation, and emergency communications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call assignments.
