Schedule: The Before and After School schedule is Monday - Friday. The schedule could include both a.m. (6:30-8:30am/9:30) and p.m. (2:30/3:30-6:00) shifts for a total of 25 hours a week, August
- May.
Degree
Required:
High School or GED
Degree Preferred: A.A. in Education or related degree
Additional Requirements Include: Pass physical examination, background check, and drug screen, and maintain required Physical/TB screen requirements and will be required to register with the Ohio Child Care Resource and Referral Association (OCCRRA) upon hire for training purposes.
QUALIFICATIONSMust be free and clear of all child abuse and neglect charges and have a satisfactory criminal record check in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
Possess a valid driver’s license, good driving record, reliable transportation, and meet insurance coverage criteria.

PHYSICAL DEMANDSMust be physically and mentally able to fulfill job duties. Able to pass employment physical demonstrating ability to stoop, crawl, kneel, bend and to lift, carry and hold child of 40 to 50 pounds. Ability to maintain visual and auditory supervision of children at all times.
Child Focus is seeking dedicated early childhood professionals to serve as a Before and After School Program Assistant. The Before and After School Program Assistant supervises an assigned group of children and provides the necessary physical and emotional care and carries out developmental activities including lesson plans. The Assistant assists in developing goals for the children, plan activities, and support children’s learning and engagement.
Responsible for communication with parents and recruiting students to the program.
- Set-up and maintain the learning environment. Establish a consistent structure for each day through daily events, daily schedule and weekly lesson planning.
- Promote learning in literacy, math, science, social studies, arts, and technology.
- Provide a safe developmentally appropriate environment that promotes learning in all areas of development using a “hands on” approach.
- Create a classroom community by promoting positive relationships, classroom rules, and problem‑solving.
- Act is Administrator Designee and assume responsibilities of Site Administrator when Site Administrator is not present on site.
- Ensure classroom environment, equipment and outdoor playgrounds are safely maintained in conjunction with state guidelines.
- Complete and submit all required reports, including attendance, and documentation correctly and in a timely manner.
- Promote parent engagement and provide opportunities for parents to participate in at least one family event per year.
- Participate in recruitment of families and help maintain full enrollment and attendance.
- Work with community and parent volunteers.
- Other duties as assigned by Program Coordinator.
All staff are responsible for the supervision of children in our program when working directly with children in a classroom setting. Staff included as part of the ratio or working one‑on‑one with a child assume primary responsibility for supervision.
