Child Care Assistant Teacher

Are you passionate about early childhood education and helping young children build the foundation for lifelong learning? Best Point Education & Behavioral Health is seeking a caring, dependable, and engaged Child Care Assistant Teacher to support children’s development in a nurturing early learning environment.

In this role, you’ll work alongside lead teachers to provide meaningful daily experiences that promote children’s intellectual, motor, social, and emotional development. You’ll help create a safe, welcoming classroom where children feel supported, families feel connected, and every child has the opportunity to thrive.

Schedule & Compensation

  Monday–Friday, 1:00–6:00 PM
• Pay: $15–$18 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
• Sign-On Bonus: $300

What You’ll Do

Support Early Childhood Development & Learning

• Supervise and actively engage with children throughout the day, supporting their intellectual, motor, social, and emotional development.
• Participate in age-appropriate learning experiences and daily activities that encourage healthy development and school readiness.
• Work alongside lead teachers to select and implement early childhood curriculum aligned with developmental assessments.
• Maintain required classroom ratios and ensure children receive consistent supervision and care.
• Keep eyes on children at all times and monitor their interactions to promote safety and well-being.
• Facilitate problem-solving and reinforce positive social skills.

Create a Safe & Engaging Classroom

• Maintain a safe, healthy, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
• Help ensure the classroom is organized, aesthetically pleasing, and designed to support children’s learning and exploration.
• Respond to children’s needs with patience, attentiveness, and compassion.
• Support a classroom environment that promotes learning, positive relationships, and healthy development.
• Communicate openly and professionally with lead teachers and other team members.

Build Relationships with Families

• Establish positive and productive relationships with children’s families.
• Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding children’s development, experiences, and well-being.
• Partner with families to support each child’s growth and create consistency between home and the early learning environment.
• Share relevant observations and information with team members to support high-quality care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential preferred.
• Experience working with children in a group setting preferred .
• Valid driver’s license preferred .
• Basic technical skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Windows and standard Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work collaboratively with lead teachers and other team members.
• A caring, dependable, and developmentally appropriate approach to working with young children.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This role takes place in an early learning environment supporting young children. Employees may encounter children who are upset or display challenging behaviors, including shouting.

The role requires the ability to:

• Sit, stand, walk, and bend regularly.
• Lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
• Maintain active supervision and engage physically with children throughout the workday.
• Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
