Pinnaql is a trusted consulting partner to regulated life sciences companies, providing deep technical, validation, and quality expertise across every stage of the product lifecycle. We partner with pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device organizations to navigate complexity, accelerate project timelines, and maintain a strong state of compliance and audit readiness.

We are seeking a Project Engineer to support capital construction activities at a pharmaceutical manufacturing site in Cincinnati. This role serves as the owner's on‑site presence, ensuring that contractors perform work safely, on schedule, and in alignment with project expectations within a GMP‑regulated environment.

The initial focus will include completion of a packaging line, installation of an isolator, and support of additional site construction activities such as roof replacement and facility upgrades. This is a hands‑on, field‑based role for someone who is comfortable walking the site daily, engaging with trades, and holding contractors accountable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the owner's on-site representative for construction activities across multiple projects.
  • Coordinate contractor access to the site, including sign‑in/sign‑out and adherence to site protocols.
  • Monitor contractor performance related to safety, schedule, and quality of execution.
  • Challenge contractors constructively on progress, sequencing, and adherence to schedule.
  • Verify that work has been completed as claimed (e.g., ductwork, piping, installations), escalating concerns when discrepancies arise.
  • Support the completion of a packaging line and isolator installation, along with other capital and maintenance‑related construction activities.
  • Serve as a liaison between the site, contractors, and the Global Project Director.
  • Identify risks, delays, or safety concerns and communicate them promptly.
  • Maintain documentation and provide regular field updates on progress and issues.
  • Operate within a GMP-regulated environment, ensuring construction activities respect site compliance requirements.
Qualifications
  • Experience supporting construction projects in industrial or regulated environments (pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, food, or similar).
  • Strong field presence with the ability to confidently engage contractors and trades.
  • Working knowledge of construction sequencing, schedules, and basic MEP systems (HVAC, ductwork, piping, utilities).
  • Ability to assess whether work has been installed correctly at a practical, field level.
  • Experience holding contractors accountable for safety and performance.
  • Comfortable working full‑time onsite in an active manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to escal issues clearly and professionally.
  • Familiarity with GMP environments is strongly preferred.

This role is ideal for a construction or project professional who enjoys being in the field, solving real‑time problems, and protecting the owner's interests. You'll be a critical extension of the project leadership team, ensuring that work is done safely, correctly, and on schedule within a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
