Role SummaryThe Field Supervisor leads day-to-day site operations on assigned projects. You’ll coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, enforce safety and quality standards, track progress against schedule, and keep the project team informed. This role is hands-on, highly organized, and central to delivering our projects safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily field activities, site logistics, and workforce scheduling for assigned areas or phases.
- Lead daily huddles and weekly coordination meetings with subcontractors; resolve conflicts and sequence work.
- Enforce site-specific safety plans; conduct toolbox talks, inspections, and incident reporting.
- Monitor quality of workmanship and materials; implement QA/QC checklists and punch lists.
- Track progress against the look-ahead and master schedule; flag risks and recommend recovery plans.
- Verify deliveries, quantities, and material handling; coordinate laydown areas and equipment usage.
- Maintain site documentation: daily reports, photos, as-builts, RFIs, and field sketches.
- Support plan reviews, field takeoffs, and constructability feedback to PMs.
- Liaise with inspectors, utilities, and authorities having jurisdiction to support timely inspections/approvals.
- Uphold site housekeeping, security, and environmental compliance.
- Mentor crew leads and emerging foremen; foster a culture of accountability and teamwork.
- 2–8 years of field experience in construction (GC, CM, or trade contractor) with increasing responsibility preferred.
- Proven track record managing subcontractors and coordinating multi-trade workflows.
- Familiarity with construction documents, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and look-ahead planning.
- Proficiency with field tech preferred:
Procore or similar, Bluebeam, MS Office, schedule (MS Project). - Strong communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Ability to read drawings and layouts; comfortable making field measurements and sketches.
- OSHA 30 (or ability to obtain within 60 days);
First Aid/CPR preferred. - Valid driver’s license; ability to lift 50 lbs and work on active jobsites in varying conditions.
- Experience on projects sized $100K–$10M.
- Background in Lean construction practices preferred (5S, pull planning, constraint tracking).
- Zero lost-time incidents; consistently safe
- Look-ahead tasks completed on schedule; minimal unplanned downtime.
- Low rework rates; timely closeout of punch items.
- Accurate, complete daily reports and photo logs.
- Positive feedback from owners, inspectors, and trade partners.
