KEP Electric is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Electrical Estimator to join our dynamic estimating team in Cincinnati, Ohio. This in‑office role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our projects through accurate cost estimation and collaboration with our team of Division Managers. Experience in Single‑Family or Multi‑Family projects is a strong plus!
What You’ll Do:- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for electrical projects.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine the scope of work.
- Utilize estimating software to perform quantity takeoffs and create detailed proposals.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project requirements and budgets.
- Source and negotiate pricing with vendors and subcontractors to develop competitive estimates.
- Review and analyze historical data to inform and refine estimation processes.
- Assist in preparing bid packages, including proposals, budgets, and supporting documentation.
- Monitor industry trends, labor costs, and material pricing to maintain up-to-date and accurate estimates.
- Maintain clear and organized records of all estimates and supporting documentation.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the estimating department and overall business needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator, with a strong understanding of residential Single‑Family and Multi‑Family construction projects.
- Proficiency in estimating software or similar tools is strongly preferred.
- Solid knowledge of electrical systems, components, and installation techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members, vendors, and clients.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to successfully pass pre‑employment screening, including a background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle record (MVR) review, as required by company policy.
- Reliable transportation to ensure regular and punctual attendance.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a desk and using a computer.
- Ability to view and read construction drawings, specifications, spreadsheets, and digital documents for extended periods.
- Ability to communicate clearly in person, by phone, and through email.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach, bend, or move around the office.
- Ability to occasionally lift or carry office materials, plans, files, or equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
- This is an in‑office position based in Cincinnati, Ohio.
- Work is performed in a professional office environment with regular use of computers, phones, printers, and standard office equipment.
- The role requires regular interaction with Division Managers, project managers, vendors, subcontractors, and other internal team members.
- The position may involve occasional visits to job sites, meetings, or vendor locations as needed.
- Job site visits, when required, may involve exposure to typical construction site conditions, including noise, dust, uneven surfaces, active equipment, and varying weather conditions.
- The work environment is fast‑paced and deadline‑driven, especially during bid preparation and project estimating periods.
