Structural Steel Estimator
A respected and growing structural steel fabricator and erector in the Cincinnati Metro Area is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Estimator to join its team. This individual will play a key role in securing new business by preparing accurate and competitive estimates for structural steel fabrication and erection projects across commercial, industrial, manufacturing, institutional, and specialty construction markets.

Primary Responsibilities:- Review project drawings, specifications, bid documents, and contract requirements
- Perform quantity takeoffs for structural steel and miscellaneous metals packages
- Prepare detailed estimates for fabrication, erection, equipment, labor, freight, and subcontracted work
- Solicit, evaluate, and analyze vendor and subcontractor quotations
- Develop conceptual, budgetary, negotiated, and hard-bid estimates
- Identify project risks, constructability concerns, and value-engineering opportunities
- Prepare bid proposals, clarifications, and scope reviews
- Coordinate with project managers, detailers, engineers, fabrication personnel, and field operations throughout the estimating process
- Attend pre-bid meetings and participate in project turnover meetings upon award
- Maintain estimating databases, historical cost information, and productivity metrics
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, owners, and industry partners
- 3+ years of estimating experience within the structural steel industry preferred
- Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection processes
- Experience estimating both structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects preferred
- Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings
- Experience performing quantity takeoffs and preparing detailed cost estimates
- Proficiency with Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and estimating software
- Knowledge of AISC standards and industry best practices
- Strong communication, organizational, and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
- Base Salary: $100,000 – $150,000 DOE
