Part Time News Anchor

Responsibilities

• Anchor newscasts.
• Cover news events throughout the shift.
• Provide breaking news coverage.
• Perform general newsroom responsibilities.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

• Ability to work weekend days and odd shifts.
• Flexibility to accommodate fill‑in needs.
• Well‑rounded communication skills for conducting interviews.
• Excellent writing and editing skills; proficiency in grammar.
• Proficiency in media production and broadcast systems.
• Ability to plan, organize, set priorities, and multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
• 3+ years of on‑air journalism experience in a smaller market or college station.
• 4‑year college degree, preferably in Broadcast Journalism or Communications.

• Respect for others and belief in mutual respect.
• Ability to work within prescribed guidelines without close supervision.
• Problem‑solving skills within established procedures.
• Understanding of when to seek guidance for unforeseen problems.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Pay type:

Hourly.
