Job SummaryMuseum Ambassadors are essential to all facets of museum operations. They bring the history of Reds baseball to life while providing exceptional service to all guests. Ambassadors conduct ballpark and museum tours, deliver information clearly and engagingly for visitors of all ages, assist with game day sales, and support fundraising efforts. They also promote Hall of Fame programs, exhibits, and merchandise.
Employees are expected to follow all Cincinnati Reds policies and procedures, serve as positive role models, and manage their workload effectively. This includes demonstrating flexibility, prioritizing tasks efficiently, and meeting departmental productivity standards.
- Education: College degree, active pursuit of a degree, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: Public speaking experience; comfort presenting to diverse groups. Experience in group dynamics management.
- Skills: Strong public speaking abilities and comfort managing groups of all sizes; strong customer service and light sales skills; uses good judgment, empathy, and common sense in unexpected situations; positive, friendly, and approachable demeanor; effective time management; knowledge of Reds history or strong desire to learn it.
- Education: Background or coursework in history, sports management, education, communications, hospitality, museum studies, or related fields.
- Experience: Experience in customer service, education, public speaking, or tourism.
- Skills: Self-motivated and proactive with strong team-player mentality; interest in learning museum operations, fan engagement, guest services, and sports-related programming; ability to remain positive, professional, and composed in fast-paced environments; willingness to learn, accept direction, and develop new skills; strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to contribute creative ideas for guest engagement and tour enhancement.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct back-to-back ballpark and museum tours (60–90 minutes each) – 20% of time
- Provide engaging and informative presentations about Reds history, exhibits, and ballpark features – 20% of time
- Assist with education programs, school groups, and guided experiences – 25% of time
- Assist with game day activations, fundraising booths, and merchandise support – 15% of time
- Support museum special events, including the Induction Gala and other programs – 15% of time
- Other duties as assigned – 5% of time
This role reports directly to Sr. Manager of Visitor Services and Retail.
Additional Information- Availability to work weekdays between 8 a.m.–3 p.m.
- Ability to work at least four weekend days per month
- Physically able to lead several 60–90‑minute tours daily
- Ability to stand for long periods and climb stairs/ramps throughout the ballpark
- Ability to lift 20+ pounds, light lifting/carrying, may be exposed to weather conditions, noise level usually moderate
- Use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear; occasionally required to sit
