Claims Representative

Overview

The Claims Representative provides support to the claims team by administering incoming phone calls and emails, ensuring efficient operation and procedural support.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Administer incoming member calls and emails for the Loan Servicing and Claims teams
  • Document systems accurately with member requests, needs or actions to be taken
  • Provide assistance to members on basic questions or troubleshooting needs, including educating and informing members on claims procedures via phone or email
  • Effectively identify members’ needs utilizing the highest level of member support and professionalism
  • Redirect calls appropriately to the internal team member
  • Post transactions as needed
  • Assist with special projects as needed
  • Participate in training activities to help support the Loan Operations Department as necessary
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Prior experience in personal insurance industry or with auto insurance preferred
  • At least one year of experience providing basic customer support or handling inbound calls
  • Experience working in a professional office setting preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple systems at one time
  • Strong communication skills and comfortable when managing communication channels
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills to be both fair and clear with members while remaining composed, friendly, and empathetic
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Ability to learn and maintain proficiency in multiple computer systems including Microsoft Office products and Credit Union systems
  • Ability to adapt in an ever‑changing business environment
