Overview

The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Department of Neurology and Rehabilitation Medicine is seeking a Neuro Ophthalmologist. The rank of appointment (Assistant/Associate) is open and will be commensurate with the experience and professional accomplishments of the selected applicant. Primary focus will be outpatient and/or inpatient clinical practice with teaching opportunities relating to residents, fellows, medical students and may include opportunities in research efforts.

Functions
  • Provide expert clinical care in neuro-ophthalmology.
  • Document findings, plan, and actions taken according to departmental guidelines and standards.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of relevant medical/legal issues that impact patient care.
  • Maintain records and statistics in accordance with department policies.
  • Attend and participate in staff, committee, department, and other administrative meetings.
  • Participate in departmental collaboration, supporting strategic initiatives, program development, and multidisciplinary care coordination within the academic medical center.
  • Participate in department's continuous quality improvement efforts.
  • Engage in scholarly activities, including clinical or translational research.
  • Provide education to other health care professionals.
  • Teach and mentor fellows, residents, and medical students, contributing to the academic mission through formal instruction and clinical supervision.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • Active or eligible for a State of Ohio Medical License.
  • Completion of residency training in Neurology or Ophthalmology.
  • Completion of a 12‑month neuro-ophthalmology fellowship training program.

  • Office environment; no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
