Echo and Outpatient Cardiology Faculty Position

Institution: The Heart Institute (HI) at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC)

Position: BE/BC Pediatric Cardiologist (Assistant, Associate, or Professor)

Focus: Clinical responsibilities primarily in echocardiography and outpatient general cardiology

Responsibilities
  • Perform and interpret transthoracic echocardiograms
  • Conduct 1–2 general cardiology clinics per week
  • Participate in inpatient consult service coverage
  • Engage in all Heart Institute clinical and management conferences
  • Provide teaching and instruction aligned with the training mission of HI/CCHMC
  • Serve as a consultant to other physicians and clinical providers within the medical center to establish coordinated care plans
Patient Care Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, effective, and compassionate patient care commensurate with level of advancement and clinical specialty
  • Make decisions regarding patient care, including screening, assessment, diagnosis, prognosis, care, reassessment, and discontinuation of care
  • Monitor appropriateness of therapeutic management and care, promoting patient care outcomes on an ongoing basis
Teaching and Training Responsibilities
  • Lead a significant teaching or clinical training program(s)
  • Supervise patient care of assigned residents and fellows, medical students, and other trainees
  • Demonstrate ongoing contributions to teaching, including mentorship and curriculum development
Service and Administration Responsibilities
  • Lead program development for service and administration, including innovative patient care and educational programs
  • Provide faculty coverage as needed within the department
  • Lead development of departmental policies, procedures, and standards
  • Develop and guide implementation of long‑ and short‑term goals aligning with division and medical center strategic objectives
Scholarly Activity
  • Engage in advanced scholarly activities, including publication of clinical investigations, educational research, reviews, chapters, or books
  • Lead clinical trials or investigations and serve on editorial boards or as a manuscript reviewer
  • Secure grant funding and mentor others in research initiatives
Qualifications
  • Board‑eligible or Board‑certified Pediatric Cardiologist
  • Assistant, Associate, or Professor rank
