To provide safe and effective medical care to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center patients. To contribute toward the advancement of clinical patient care and outcomes by following care guideline and treatment protocols for infant, children and adolescent patients and to aid in their mental and physical growth and development. May elect to participate in the training and education of residents, fellows and other learners.
The Genetics Laboratories in the Division of Human Genetics (DHG) are well-equipped, expanding CLIA and CAP certified clinical laboratories. The laboratories perform testing for inherited diseases and somatic alterations including well-established collaborative diagnostic programs for more than two hundred different disorders and conditions. DHG has an ABMGG accredited training program for Medical Genetics and Laboratory Genetics and Genomics (as of July 2017).
DHG also has a master’s training program for genetic counselors administered jointly with The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
