The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is seeking board‑certified or board‑eligible full‑time generalist physician(s). Candidates should have an interest in developing and maintaining an active clinical practice, medical and resident student teaching, and other research academic activities. The rank of appointment (Instructor/Assistant/Associate) is open and will be commensurate with the experience and professional accomplishments of the selected applicant.

Positions are available at both academic medical locations. The positions will be 100 % clinical with clinical teaching.

The University of Cincinnati Medical Center (UCMC) is our main campus with OBGYN residents, UC medical students, and fellows. UCMC provides approximately 3,000 deliveries per year, performs gynecologic surgeries including robotics, and provides services in 3 UC locations as well as 11 community neighborhood locations in collaboration with FQHC partners.

West Chest Hospital (WCH) is an academic medicine service in a suburban community location. There are rotators from UC programs and this location serves as the OB residency for Family Medicine programs. WCH provides about 1,000 deliveries per year, performs gynecologic surgeries including robotics, provides services in West Chester as well as 1 community neighborhood location in collaboration with a FQHC partner.

Functions
  • Developing an active clinical practice serving full‑scope women’s health needs such as outpatient clinic, inpatient labor and delivery, postpartum care, gynecological surgeries and in‑office procedures.
  • Medical student and resident teaching by participating in clinical care training, presentations, didactics and research projects.
  • Attend meetings, participate in governance, prepare materials for teaching which includes evaluating learners.
  • Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of his or her responsibilities.
  • Render service to the professional or lay community which is relevant to the individual’s academic specialty.
  • Support the department’s annual academic goals, such as patient care quality, process improvements, meeting educational standards, and participation in supporting research activities.
