Assistant Professor, Clinical Geo

The University of Cincinnati Department of Neurosurgery is driving the direction of how our field is practiced. As an internationally recognized program, University of Cincinnati Department of Neurosurgery is where patients and other clinicians turn for care of complex neurosurgical issues. We are an academic leader and resource for the region because we don't just treat patients, we are developing better ways to do so.

The Department of Neurosurgery is seeking an Endovascular fellowship trained neurosurgeon to facilitate subspecialty program growth, increase patient access and contribute to regional coverage expansion. They would join an established Endovascular division within a comprehensive department covering all subspecialty areas including spine, neuro-oncology, skull-base, neurotrauma and functional neurosurgery.

Essential Functions:

  • Bedside education of medical students and residents in the diagnosis and care of patients with cerebrovascular disease.
  • Participate in the educating of students in neurosurgery and specialty-adjacent fields in specialty head and neck anatomy.
  • Provide direct patient care.
  • Attend departmental and institutional meetings, contribute to governance, and assist in the preparation of educational materials.
  • Engage in scholarly activities, including clinical research, quality improvement, and academic service.
  • Provide service to the professional and lay community relevant to neurosurgery and academic medicine.
  • Respond to University-related communications in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of departmental and institutional goals.

Minimum Requirements:

  • MD or DO Licensure by the State of Ohio Medical Board.
  • Board certified/Board eligible.
  • Completion of ACGME Neurosurgery residency (7 years).
  • Completion of Endovascular Neurosurgery Subspecialty Training or CAST Fellowship (1 year).
