Participates in the development and modification of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service within Specialty Clinics such as Pain Management Program including the provision of interventional procedures requiring informed consent and pre-screening as well as procedural aftercare.
- Delivers care to Veterans requiring Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation services that may include but are not inclusive of:
- Musculoskeletal Evaluation
- Wheelchair/Adaptive Seating
- Amputee Management
- Electromyography/Nerve Conduction Studies (EMG/NCS)
- Acupuncture/Acupressure
- Spinal Cord Injury/Disorders Management
- Traumatic Brain Injury Management
- Generalized Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
- Interventional Pain Procedures
- Works with multiple Divisions/Services throughout the facility to improve outcomes and efficiencies.
- Collaborates on a frequent basis with Nursing and the Interdisciplinary Rehabilitation Team to facilitate the operation of the Specialty and/or Clinic to meet common goals.
- Responsible to adhere to physician's schedules and coverage systems.
- Performs the administrative components of patient care management, such as documentation of evaluations, progress notes, reports, summaries, informed consent, signatures and consultations referrals for both in/outpatients following facility and Service guidelines.
- Participates in inter-service rounds, interdisciplinary meetings, conferences, Grand Rounds, accreditation activities (TJC, CARF), and any other relevant activity to assist Program, Service, and facility to meet its goals/objectives and as assigned by the Care Line Manager.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives and Point of Care Review.
- Meets continuing education requirements per Service and facility.
Pay:
Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
Retirement:
Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
CME:
Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)

No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00a.m.
