Job OverviewAs one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine has a reputation for training best‑in‑class health care professionals and developing cutting‑edge procedures and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients. The Department of Family & Community Medicine has played a leading role in fellow, resident, and medical student education since 1974 and continues to focus on improving the health of members of our Cincinnati community and beyond, with a special focus on medically underserved patients.
The Department is advancing the college's commitment to cultivating learning environments, fostering research and scholarship, and providing innovative patient care.
The Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine invites applications for Program Director (PD) of the UC Health West Chester Family Medicine Residency (UC WCFMR). This is a full‑time clinician educator and department leader position with 60% protected administrative time and a substantive clinical presence. The PD holds ACGME‑delegated authority for the residency and reports directly to the Department Chair.
Consistent with departmental structure, the Program Director serves as Division Director for the West Chester Residency division, with responsibility for faculty oversight, divisional strategy, and budget.

About the PositionThe UC WCFMR is the sole ACGME‑accredited residency at UC Health West Chester Hospital, a community hospital staffed throughout by UC Health faculty specialists, with academic affiliation with the College of Medicine. The program enrolls six residents per year with ACGME approval to expand to eight, and trains across the full scope of family medicine: ambulatory continuity practice, adult inpatient medicine, and maternity care.
Core rotations are on or adjacent to the West Chester campus; pediatric inpatient training is at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Liberty Campus. Community‑based experiences include a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) school‑based health center, university health, and the county health department.
UC Health West Chester Hospital serves as the sponsoring institution for an ACGME‑accredited Transitional Year Residency, for which the Family Medicine program serves as the designated parent program. The department also houses ACGME‑accredited Geriatrics and Hospice/Palliative Care Fellowships at the West Chester site. Each program has its own Program Director. UC WCFMR graduated its first class in June 2026, anchored by a department with more than 50 years of graduate medical education history and the full academic and clinical resources of UC Health and UC College of Medicine.
