Job Title
This position involves performing professional medical work relating to the evaluation and treatment of newborns, infants, children, and adolescents.
Minimum Qualifications (KSAs)Knowledge of sexually transmitted diseases. Skill to operate appropriate computer equipment; use properly all related hardware and software. Operate assigned vehicle in the course of duty. Ability to implement and maintain positive employee relations. Promote and maintain highest integrity throughout all personnel. Analyze and manage effective EEO/AA programs. Develop quality assurance standards. Serve on hospital committees. Maintain mutually beneficial professional relationships with surrounding health service providers and hospitals.
Maintain medical and other clinical records as required by Health Department rules and regulations. Diagnose and manage sexually transmitted diseases. Take a complete history. Perform a complete physical including pelvic exam and rectal as necessary. Order and interpret appropriate tests. Make appropriate diagnosis. Design and monitor treatment plans. Make appropriate referrals. Interpret immunization records. Manage life threatening emergencies. Perform venipuncture incision and drainage of superficial abscess and other common office procedures.
Education and Experience
Each applicant must be licensed by the State of Ohio as a Medical Doctor or Osteopathic Doctor and must be Board eligible at the time of hire. Must obtain Board certification within five (5) years of appointment as a Public Health Pediatrician. Failure to do so will result in termination. Must retain licensure. Other requirements include having a valid Ohio Driver's License and being an excellent communicator and team builder.
Workingand Physical Conditions
Examples of work performed include obtaining a completed medical history, performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting appropriate tests and procedures, determining diagnosis based on results obtained from tests and procedures, developing appropriate treatment plan, monitoring the progress of treatment plan, coordinating treatment among several professionals or make appropriate referrals for complex problems, completing all forms, records, and necessary paperwork relating to the performance of job duties, providing counseling for both parents and patients regarding growth, development, and common psycho-social problems, providing medical care and consultation for hospital patients, participating in after hours call system and provide medical care as indicated.
Probationary period is twelve months. Supervision exercised includes direct supervision over professional duties of a nurse clinician.
