OverviewThe Xavier University Career Development Office is seeking applicants for the position of Employer Relations Office Assistant in the Office of the Provost, Academic Engagement. The position reports to the Associate Director of Employer Relations.
The focus of this position is to provide primary support to the employer relations team. This position will also assist with scheduling and marketing campus engagement opportunities with employers/graduate schools, such as interviews, information tables, and more; implement surveys and produce employer/career management software reports; assist in front office activities, including receiving visitors, communicating internally and externally with employers, students, and faculty.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to
:
- Schedule visits, reserve space, and other needs for employer/graduate school/organization visits to campus; organize on-campus interview schedules within the career management system (Handshake).
- Occasional assistance with producing and maintaining regular correspondence and announcements to Campus Recruiting participants and stakeholders (students, employers, faculty, and staff); respond to inquiries from employers/graduate schools/organizations concerning campus recruiting.
- Greet and orient organizations/recruiters to campus.
- Aid with event preparation and execution, such as career fairs and networking events.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including but not limited to front desk coverage, answering office phone and emails, job posting review and approval, and other duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
:
- Junior, senior, or graduate student enrolled in the Spring 2026 semester in Counseling, Human Resources, Psychology, Sociology, Education, Business, or related program.
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively and be professional when external constituents are present on campus.
- Must be able to meet the minimum expected work hours.
Preferred Qualifications
:
- Strong interest in working with employers, recruiters, and community partners.
- Experience serving in a helping capacity, such as greeting and providing customer service via phone and in-person.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently, while also collaborating with Career Development team members and campus partners.
This is a part-time position, and the employee is expected to work approximately
10-15 hours per week
, Monday through Friday.

Fall and Spring Semester positions
Students must be enrolled full-time at Xavier University during the Fall/Spring academic semesters to work in a student employee position. Full time means a minimum of 12 credit hours for undergraduate students and a minimum of 9 hours for graduate students.
Summer Semester Positions
- Students must be enrolled full-time at Xavier University during the upcoming Fall Semester to work in a student employee position during the summer semester. Full time means a minimum of 12 credit hours for undergraduate students and a minimum of 9 hours for graduate students. Students don’t have to be enrolled in the summer semester to work in a student employee position during the Summer.
