Summary

The Agriculture Education Manager is deeply committed to the mission and values of Greenacres. As Agriculture Education Manager, you’ll shape how thousands of students experience agriculture. Leading educators and teaching children how to connect learning to real land, animals, and food systems.

This role is responsible for leading a team of four Agriculture and Equine Education Site Supervisors, supporting expansion to new sites as they arise, and overseeing the development and implementation of agriculture-based curriculum. The Agriculture Education Manager also plays a key role in onboarding, supporting, and leading education staff within the Agriculture Education department.

The ability to teach and deliver high-quality, mission-aligned programming is essential, as this position serves as a substitute educator when needed. The Agriculture Education Manager partners closely with the Education Operations Team to support scheduling and staffing for field trips, before- and after-school programs, and summer camps.

Responsibilities

Education Programs

  • Hire, supervise, train, evaluate, and develop Agriculture and Equine Education Site Supervisors and educators
  • Lead and support the development and implementation of educational plans for current and future program sites
  • Conduct ongoing program evaluation and implement improvements as needed
  • Maintain accurate agriculture education program logs and programming records
  • Serve as a substitute educator at all four Agriculture and Equine Education sites as needed

Staff Management

  • Lead and facilitate regular team meetings
  • Hold Site Supervisors accountable for staff management, program quality, and program development
  • Complete administrative and reporting duties as required
  • Coach and develop Site Supervisors’ leadership and management skills

Budget

  • Partner with Site Supervisors to prepare and propose annual programming budgets for each site to the Senior Director of Education and CFO
  • Monitor and review monthly actuals versus budget, identifying trends and addressing variances

Additional Professional Activities

  • Support the professional development of Agriculture and Equine Education staff, collaborating with Livestock, Garden, and Equine teams on cross-functional opportunities
  • Represent Greenacres through presentations to public and community groups
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with the Livestock, Equine, and Garden teams to ensure high-quality, mission-aligned programming, and provide operational support as appropriate
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in education or comparable academic discipline or equivalent experientially gained knowledge.
  • 4+ years proven management/supervisory experience
  • 6+ years of demonstrable education and agriculture experience
  • Passion for educating school-age children utilizing authentic agriculture assets.
