Job Overview
The Department of Mathematical Sciences in the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Cincinnati is seeking applicants for a full-time teaching faculty member (non-tenure track) at the Instructor-Educator or Assistant Professor-Educator rank. The anticipated start date for this position is August 15, 2026. The rank at appointment will be commensurate with credentials.
The successful candidate will join a team dedicated to improving STEM education. Educator faculty in the Department of Mathematical Sciences are committed to using innovative and scholarly ideas for instruction and other pedagogical initiatives. Educator faculty take the lead in course coordination, undergraduate curriculum development, and mentoring teaching assistants and other instructors.
Essential Functions
* Teaching Mathematics courses at the undergraduate level (both in person and online),
* Using educational technologies such as Canvas and Teams to teach/communicate with students and collaborate with other faculty; becoming proficient with the use of new educational technologies as needed,
* Collaborating with other faculty in multi-section courses,
* Ongoing professional development, and
* Engaging in service to the department which may include but is not limited to serving on committees, new course development, and leading instructional teams of coordinated courses.
Minimum Requirements
For appointment at the Assistant Professor Educator rank, prior to the effective date of the appointment:
* a PhD in Mathematics or closely related field
For appointment at the Instructor Educator rank, prior to the effective date of the appointment, all of the following:
* a Master's degree in Mathematics or closely related field, and
* two academic years' experience teaching college-level courses in mathematics
