Cincinnati Country Day School is seeking applicants for a full-time position teaching math to begin August 2026. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, student-centered educator whose passion and expertise as a lifelong learner is modeled as a way to inspire and engage students.

The CCDS math curriculum is focused on helping students to:

* Develop a deep mathematical understanding of why mathematical ideas work and how they connect across topics such as algebra, geometry, functions, and modeling.

* Cultivate reasoning, sense-making, and the ability to justify solutions.

* Build procedural fluency and apply mathematics to real-world situations.

* Master the six major conceptual areas of math (number & quantity, algebra, functions, modeling, geometry, and statistics & probability) to prepare students for college mathematics, technical fields, and informed citizenship.

Qualifications:

* BS in math or related field, with an advanced degree preferred

* Besides helping the school and department meet its mission, the candidate should also have enthusiasm for teaching, experience with high school age students, and a willingness to explore new methodologies and technologies for instruction

* Computer literacy and proficiency, experience with technology in the classroom, and ability to effectively utilize a learning management system

Teaching Expectations:
The teacher will join a congenial and collegial department consisting of five faculty members while being supervised and supported by the math department chair and the head of upper School. Specific responsibilities for this position include:

* Teaching four sections of math based on enrollment and the teaching needs of the department.

* Providing academic support for students outside of class time during office hours.

* Collaborating and participating actively in the work of the math department on best practices in curriculum development, pedagogy, and assessment.

* Actively participating in the life of the school community.

* Commits to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of innovative, research-informed teaching practices.

Community Expectations:

* Contribute as an engaged, collaborative community member both within and across departments

* Serve as an advisor to approximately 10 students

* Serve on ad hoc committees, as needed

* Participate in community events including but not limited to several evening or weekend events

* Carry out other duties as assigned
