Job Overview
The School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA) at the University of Cincinnati invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor in Cyber Security Studies. The position will hold an additional appointment of Faculty Fellow in the Center for Cyber Strategy and Policy to advance grant-funded research including the areas of cyber threat modeling, cyber exercises and their methodology, operational security, and cyber-related US national security research conducted through the new National Security Research Institute didates will teach the core National and International Cyber Strategy and Policy course minimally twice a year (on-line 120 students per semester) and two other courses in a new BA in Cyber Strategy and Digital Affairs going through approval at this time.
The appointment is intended to begin August 15, 2026.
SPIA offers an MPA, MA and PhD in Political Science as well as three undergraduate BAs (Political Science, International Affairs, and Law and Society). SPIA also houses three research centers --the Portman Center for Policy Solutions, the Center for Truth, Community Healing and Transformation (CTRHT) and the Center for Cyber Strategy and Policy (CCSP).

Essential Functions
The successful candidate will:
• Teach the core undergraduate course in National and International Cyber Strategy and Policy minimally twice a year (on-line 120 students per semester) and two additional in-person courses in a new BA in Cyber Strategy and Digital Affairs per academic year (2-2 teaching load). Overtime a graduate course maybe developed in cyber security studies.
• Hold an additional appointment of Faculty Fellow with the Center for Cyber Strategy and Policy and pursue an active research agenda in cyber security studies and advance the Center for Cyber Strategy and Policy's grant-based research including cyber threat modeling, cyber exercises and their methodology, operational security, and cyber-related US national security research conducted through the new National Security Research Institute at UC.
• Support SPIA governance through unit-level, college, and/or university service such as but not limited to advising of SPIA majors. Engagement with the wider university community, external partners such as state of Ohio agencies, and/or national and international professional organizations is also expected as professional service.
Minimum Requirements
Prior to effective date of the appointment, PhD in Political Science or a related field.
