About CECH-IT
The College of Education, Criminal Justice, Human Services and Information Technology (CECH-IT) is dedicated to making a difference in our communities through outreach, academic programs, and community partnerships. Our students and faculty work side-by-side with educators, athletic directors, community wellness experts, cybersecurity analysts, and local, state and federal law enforcement officials. We value experiential learning as an important element of our degree programs.

Job Overview
The School of Education at the University of Cincinnati seeks to hire a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Human Development - Community-Based Education. Primary responsibilities align with standard tenure track appointments including teaching and advising, research, and service. The position is campus-based, although there are online teaching opportunities. The person in this position will have the opportunity to take a leadership role in shaping a new community-based education program, grounded in principles of human development.

Essential Functions
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in human development and/or community-based education, delivered both in person and online (synchronous and asynchronous).
- Conduct research, including applying for external research support where available.
- Contribute to curriculum development, continuous assessment, and program improvement.
- Advise masters and doctoral students.
- Participate in professional service activities such as shared program governance and serving on program, school, college, and university committees.
- Work with community partners.
Prior to the effective date of appointment, the following are required:
- Doctoral degree in Human Development, Community-Based Education, Community/Developmental/Educational Psychology or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching and research evidenced by strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals. Candidates for a tenured appointment should demonstrate intellectual leadership and impact on the field and potential significant contributions to the department, University of Cincinnati, and wider scholarly community.
- A record of scholarship and/or external grant funding.
- Previous experience teaching at the college or university level.
- Experience supervising undergraduate research, student interns or pre-service teachers.
- Familiarity with inclusive practices and culturally responsive pedagogy.
