Current UC employees must apply internally via Success Factors Job OverviewThe School of Criminal Justice – Law and Paralegal Studies program at the University of Cincinnati seeks an Assistant Professor – Educator (non‑tenure track), starting August 15, 2026 (start date negotiable). This position entails a 9‑month per year teaching load.
Essential FunctionsTeach and perform other professional activities such as overseeing field placement activities and working with student organizations. Support the university’s mission and commitment to student excellence. Help expand enrollment and maintain compliance with ABA Guidelines for Approval of Paralegal Programs. These duties require teaching 12 credit hours per semester for two semesters per academic year.
Minimum Requirements- Juris Doctorate.
- No less than three (3) years of work experience in the legal field.
- Experience working with or as a paralegal.
- Demonstrated experience in, and strong commitment to, online teaching and mentoring at the college level.
- Licensed to practice law in good standing.
- Obtain a Doctorate or terminal degree from a regionally accredited college or university of recognized standing in a field appropriate to the position.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching and research evidenced by a strong publication record in peer‑reviewed journals.
- For a tenured appointment, demonstrate intellectual leadership, impact on the field, and potential significant contributions to the department, University of Cincinnati, and wider scholarly community.
- Successful teaching in a paralegal program at the postsecondary level as substantiated by assessments.
- Evidence of experience working as an attorney with paralegals.
- Evidence of experience integrating writing, technology, and thinking skills in teaching deparalegal studies.
- Successful use of technology to support instruction.
- Evidence of knowledge of the application process and standards for ABA approval of paralegal education programs.
