Adjunct Faculty - Instructional Design and Technology Instructor
Xavier University is seeking qualified candidates to join our pool of potential adjunct faculty for the academic year. This posting is intended to collect applications for part-time, non-tenure-track position for an Adjunct Instructor in Instructional Design and Technology.
Candidates must be dedicated to graduate teaching and demonstrate excellence in the field of Instructional Design and Technology. The successful candidate will contribute to our commitment to excellence in teaching and student engagement.
Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis, and candidates may be contacted as teaching needs arise. Adjunct faculty contracts are issued on a semester-by-semester basis, depending on departmental needs and student enrollment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Earned master’s degree (required) or doctorate (preferred) in instructional design, instructional technology, learning sciences, educational technology, or a closely related discipline.
- Professional Experience and expertise in the field of Instructional Design or Learning & Development.
- Experience teaching or facilitating online or hybrid courses to adult learners
- Strong knowledge of instructional design models and learning theories.
- At least 2 years (4 years with a master’s degree) of University/College teaching experience.
- Experience using and integrating artificial intelligence (AI) tools into teaching and learning.
Duties Include
- Teach asynchronous instructional design and eLearning courses to online graduate students in the M.S. in Instructional Design and Development degree and eLearning Design and Development Certificate programs.
- Facilitate online learning and engagement
- Support adult learners’ success and self-directed learning in an online setting.
- Assess student learning and maintain academic standards
- Follow departmental policies, adhere to course schedules and syllabi, respond to program-related communication.
