The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular & Cellular Biology at Georgetown University School of Medicine is seeking two qualified candidates for full-time Assistant or Associate Professor positions on the Medical Educator track. These positions offer an exciting opportunity to contribute to the medical education of future physicians in a dynamic and collaborative environment. Appointment and salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities- Teach first- and second-year medical students in the pre-clinical Medical Gross Anatomy course, delivering lectures, facilitating laboratory sessions, and participating in a full cadaveric dissection course.
- Potentially participate in anatomy instruction for third- and fourth-year medical students, master's students, and allied health professional programs.
- Provide service to the university, including committee work or other forms of university service.
- Receive annual funding for travel to one academic or professional conference as part of professional development in medical education.
- Hold an M.D., Ph.D., or equivalent degree in a biological science or closely related field.
- Teaching experience in a clinically oriented, dissection-based Gross Anatomy course (required).
- Teaching experience in clinically oriented Embryology and/or Histology (preferred).
- Strong commitment to excellence in education and willingness to contribute to interdisciplinary medical education in large group, small group, and laboratory settings.
The projected salary range for this position is $103,500 - $178,000, which represents the full range of anticipated compensation for this position. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
