Bethany School - Middle School Teacher (Grades 7-8)
Bethany School seeks a full-time Middle School Teacher (Grades 7-8) beginning in August 2026, with flexibility to consider an earlier start for highly qualified candidates. Successful candidates are culturally competent, responsible, caring, and enthusiastic educators with strong content knowledge and a passion for working with adolescent learners.
Middle School teachers are departmentalized, teaching a single subject area to students in both 7th and 8th grades in classes that do not exceed 15 students. Teachers collaborate with a team of four homeroom teachers to support student development and ensure a cohesive middle school experience. Teachers are assigned a mentor in their first year and are supported by the Middle School Lead and Assistant Head for Academic Affairs.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Plan and deliver instruction in a specific content area (e.g., History, Math, Science, Reading).
- Teach multiple sections of 7th and 8th grade students.
- Design engaging, rigorous lessons aligned to standards and learning goals.
- Assess student learning and use data to inform instruction.
- Differentiate instruction to support a range of learners.
- Build strong relationships with students and support their social-emotional development.
- Collaborate with the middle school team and participate in team planning.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with students and families.
- Participate in school meetings, professional development, and school initiatives.
- Uphold and model Bethany School's mission, values, and Episcopal identity.
- Bachelor's Degree in content area or related field required;
Master's preferred. - Ohio Teacher License required, or Resident Educator License; or Permanent Non-tax certificate.
- Strong content knowledge in assigned subject area.
- Experience working with middle school students preferred.
