Job DescriptionDescription: Certified Assistant - Sign Language Interpreter, .875 FTE;
Two positions.
Job Summary: Facilitate communication between the instructor and classroom interaction—auditory and/or manual—to assist a specified student with daily classroom responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Responsible for facilitating communication of instruction and classroom interaction.
- Work cooperatively with classroom teachers and other staff members.
- Provide a communication link between the student and all others in the classroom to provide equal access to education using the student's preferred sign system.
- Be cooperative, positive, and helpful in the classroom.
- Hold a high school diploma and a current Ohio Associate License for Interpreter for the Hearing Impaired.
Working Conditions: 7 hours per day, 5 days per week; 184 days per school year calendar. Salary starting at $26.48 per hour (based on verified previous experience, 2026/2027 salary TBD) per current Lakota salary schedule.
