Campus Recreation's mission is to create an inclusive environment that inspires movement and community. In addition to offering an award‑winning fitness facility, we strive to be a place where members can connect with one another in a safe and positive environment. The Building Supervisor is responsible for the day‑to‑day operations of the Campus Recreation Center, including equipment setup and maintenance, special event management, assisting other student staff groups, and customer service.
Successful candidates must ensure members, prospective members, rental groups, and guests are presented with a safe and enjoyable environment.
- Act as a primary responder in emergency situations and manage the staff response/scene.
- Manage the setup/teardown and execution of events and rentals (external/internal).
- Assist with preventative and minor maintenance of sports and fitness equipment.
- Communicate effectively with professional staff through various methods.
- Assist in the recruitment, hiring, training, and evaluation process for the Supervisor position.
- Enforce Campus Recreation Policies and Procedures.
- Answer questions members may have about our facility and events.
- Be knowledgeable about the daily operations, facility schedules, and programming within the Campus Recreation Center and the Campus Recreation department as a whole.
- Attend staff meetings and trainings.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Campus Recreation provides additional development opportunities for staff beyond job duties including the possibility to attend varying conferences at state, regional, and national levels as well as inner‑departmental committee opportunities through our student‑led organization, Recreational Development & Leadership (RDL).
- This position may require early mornings, late nights, breaks, and holidays.
- This position requires a minimum of 5 hours and allows for a maximum of 24 hours (non‑international employees) and 20 hours (international employees) per week.
- Skills acquired include teamwork, problem‑solving, customer service, communication, and ability to stand/ walk for long periods of time.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Enrolled at a post‑secondary institution or a secondary school.
- Enrolled at least part‑time (one or more credit hours if at a post‑secondary institution), except for summer term, or will be a registered student during the next academic term.
- The "Enrollment" shall include:
- The period between two successive terms for which the student is enrolled.
- The one "off" term in each academic year in which the student is not enrolled. Student employee status may be retained for one additional term following either graduation or withdrawal from enrollment.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers with First Aid.

- Pay rate – $13.40/hour
