Primary Duties:
- Officiate intramural contests for various sports.
- Possess thorough knowledge of the Intramural Sports Rules and Handbook.
- Attend all mandatory trainings and meetings.
- Adhere to and enforce risk‑management guidelines and policies.
- Complete all necessary paperwork.
- Communicate with staff members, participants, and spectators in a professional manner regarding UC Intramural Sports.
- Assist with facility set‑up and tear‑down.
- Conduct and/or assist with daily cleaning operations.
- Abide by all staff policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Procure concussion‑recognition certification and handle situations involving suspected concussions.
- Assist in marketing the Intramural Sports program.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Information:
- Campus Recreation provides additional development opportunities for staff, including conferences at state, regional, and national levels and involvement in the student‑led Recreational Development & Leadership (RDL) organization.
- This position may require early mornings, late nights, and weekends.
- Hours:
10–24 hours per week. - Skills acquired: teamwork, problem‑solving, customer service, communication, and coordination.
- Educational requirement:
High School Diploma or GED. - Must be enrolled at a post‑secondary institution or secondary school, at least part‑time (one or more credit hours if at a post‑secondary institution), except for the summer term, or be a registered student during the next academic term.
- Enrollment definition: a period between two successive terms during which the student is enrolled, and the one "off" term in each academic year in which the student is not enrolled; student can retain employee status for one additional term after graduation or withdrawal.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
Essential Certifications within 30 days of hire:
- Clery Certification
- Fire Extinguisher Certification
- NFHS Concussion in Sports Certification
Physical Requirements / Work Environment:
- Standing – often

- Bending – sometimes
- Pulling, pushing – sometimes
- Lifting – up to 50 lbs
Compensation and Benefits:
- $11.40 per hour
- 20% discount on programs and services (excluding Pro Shop)
