Job DescriptionPosition Summary
The Itinerant Teacher – College Credit Plus (CCP) supports Cincinnati Public Schools students participating in Ohio’s College Credit Plus program by delivering high‑quality instruction aligned to postsecondary expectations and Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (ODEW) requirements. This position will serve students across multiple CPS school sites and partner institutions while maintaining compliance with state credentialing, district policies, and partnering college or university standards.
The itinerant CCP teacher promotes equitable access to rigorous college‑level coursework, collaborates with counselors and administrators, and supports students in developing college‑readiness skills necessary for success in dual enrollment environments.
Preference may be given to candidates credentialed in Humanities and/or World (Foreign) Languages to support district CCP programming needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Instruction & Student Support- Deliver college‑level instruction in assigned content area(s) in accordance with CCP and partnering institution standards.
- Develop and implement rigorous lesson plans aligned to approved college syllabi, course outcomes, and Ohio learning standards where applicable.
- Maintain instructional quality consistent with expectations of adjunct or credentialed postsecondary faculty.
- Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners while maintaining college‑level rigor.
- Monitor student academic progress and provide timely interventions and supports.
- Maintain accurate grades, attendance, and academic records in accordance with district and college requirements.
- Support students in developing executive functioning, time management, and college readiness skills.
- Travel between multiple CPS buildings as assigned.
- Collaborate with school counselors, principals, CCP coordinators, intervention specialists, and college partners to support student success.
- Participate in CCP advising, scheduling, informational meetings, and family engagement opportunities.
- Communicate regularly with students, families, and staff regarding academic progress and course expectations.
- Ensure compliance with ODEW CCP regulations, district policies, and institutional partnership agreements.
- Maintain all required Ohio licensure and CCP credentialing qualifications.
- Participate in district professional development and required postsecondary partner training.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional and ethical standards.
- Utilize instructional technology platforms and district‑approved systems effectively.
- Perform additional duties related to CCP implementation and student support as assigned.
- Master’s degree in the assigned content area, or
- Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in the assigned discipline, meeting Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and CCP faculty credentialing standards.
- Valid Ohio teaching license issued by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (ODEW).
- Meets Ohio College Credit Plus credentialing requirements for teaching college‑level coursework.
- Ability to meet credentialing standards established by partnering colleges/universities.
- Experience teaching secondary and/or postsecondary coursework preferred.
- Experience working with diverse student populations in urban educational settings preferred.
- Demonstrated success in rigorous academic instruction and student support.
- Knowledge of Ohio College Credit Plus regulations and procedures.
- Strong instructional practices appropriate for college‑level coursework.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and educational partners.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to work independently across multiple locations.
- Proficiency with educational technology and learning management systems.
- Frequent travel between district school sites and partner institutions required.
