Title:

Teacher—Special Education, 1 FTE

Job Summary:

The Elementary School Teacher for Lakota Local Schools is responsible for creating an engaging, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for students in grades K‑6. This role involves designing and delivering high‑quality instruction aligned with state standards, fostering student growth academically, socially, and emotionally. The teacher supports differentiated learning needs, implements evidence‑based instructional practices, and cultivates a positive classroom culture that encourages collaboration, critical thinking, and problem‑solving.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Education; valid Ohio K‑6 Intervention Specialist License
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and staff
  • Effective classroom management techniques
  • Proficiency in integrating technology into instruction
  • Adaptability in responding to diverse student learning needs
Working Conditions

7.75 hours per day, 184 days per school year calendar.

Selection Procedure

Applicants will be evaluated based on qualifications, experience, and alignment with district needs. Selected candidates will participate in interviews, which may include panel interviews, reference checks, and/or teaching demonstrations. Applicants that are offered positions shall be required to submit to an FBI/BCII criminal background check. Failure to satisfactorily pass the criminal background check based on the discretion of the Board of Education will preclude an individual from employment with the district.
