Job Overview

The Student Success Coordinator, under the direction of the Director of Student Success, is responsible for administering the scholarship program at the University of Cincinnati Clermont College and providing direct student counseling and support to promote academic success, retention, and graduation.

Approximately fifty percent of the position is dedicated to scholarship administration, including the management of scholarship applications, eligibility review, award processing, donor stewardship, and reporting. The remaining fifty percent focuses on counseling and supporting students from the broader student population, with particular attention to first-generation students, students with financial need, and other historically underserved populations.

This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational and analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of scholarship administration, financial aid principles, academic policies, student records, and university support services. Experience in financial aid administration is strongly preferred.

The Student Success Coordinator serves as a key resource for students navigating scholarship opportunities, financial aid considerations, academic progress, and barriers to persistence. The Coordinator collaborates with campus departments and community partners to ensure effective scholarship management and coordinated student support services.

Essential Functions

Scholarship Administration (Approximately 50%)

* Administer all aspects of the scholarship program, including application processing, eligibility verification, award coordination, acceptance tracking, renewal monitoring, and reporting.

* Coordinate the scholarship review and selection process using established rubrics and institutional criteria.

* Manage scholarship activities through Scholarship Universe and other university systems.

* Ensure scholarship awards are administered in compliance with donor restrictions, institutional policies, and applicable federal and state financial aid regulations.

* Monitor scholarship budgets and reconcile award balances in collaboration with campus partners.

* Prepare reports regarding scholarship utilization, recipient outcomes, and donor impact.

* Coordinate with the Office of Student Financial Aid, Enrollment Services, and the Business Office to ensure accurate award packaging and disbursement.

* Maintain scholarship records and supporting documentation with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.

* Provide information and guidance to students and families regarding scholarship opportunities and how scholarships interact with financial aid.

* Coordinate donor stewardship activities, including recipient thank-you letters, impact reports, and scholarship recognition events.

Student Counseling and Student Success (Approximately 50%)

* Counsel students regarding academic progress, financial aid implications, and available campus resources.

* Advise students on academic, financial, and personal factors that may affect persistence and graduation.

* Develop individualized success plans and provide targeted outreach to students experiencing academic or financial challenges.

* Monitor student progress and conduct interventions through email, phone, and individual meetings as appropriate.

* Analyze retention and scholarship recipient data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

* Plan and deliver workshops and events focused on scholarship opportunities, financial literacy, and academic success.
