Position Summary

Under the direction of the Construction Training Program Manager, the Construction Training Coordinator supports Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati’s Construction Training Program through classroom instruction, hands‑on skills training, student development, and onsite supervision. This role helps prepare adult learners for careers in construction by delivering curriculum, coaching students, and ensuring safe and productive participation on Habitat build sites.

Position Responsibilities Program Delivery & Instruction
  • Teach basic construction skills including hand and power tool usage, jobsite safety, and construction materials.
  • Support the development and improvement of training curriculum and classroom activities.
  • Provide hands‑on instruction to adult learners in both classroom and field environments.
  • Proctor required testing.
Student Support & Development
  • Monitor student attendance, participation, and performance.
  • Provide direct coaching and feedback to students regarding skill development and workplace readiness.
  • Support career readiness and professional behavior expectations.
  • Participate in candidate interviews and student selection activities.
Jobsite Coordination
  • Coordinate daily training activities with Habitat Site Superintendents.
  • Work with Site Superintendents to ensure students complete tasks safely and effectively on active construction sites.
  • Reinforce safety standards and proper construction practices.
  • Work collaboratively with volunteers supporting classroom or jobsite activities.
Program Administration & Partnerships
  • Maintain accurate student and program documentation.
  • Coordinate scheduling with internal departments and external partners, including City Link Center.
  • Assist with employer outreach and community partnership engagement.
  • Attend program-related meetings, events, and occasional evening or weekend activities.
  • Serve as backup support to the Construction Training Program Manager as needed.
Qualifications
  • Construction experience and working knowledge of residential construction practices.
  • Experience teaching, training, coaching, or mentoring adult learners preferred.
  • NCCER trainer certification preferred or ability to obtain.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working in both classroom and active construction site environments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends.
