ACCEL Schools is hiring a highly qualified 1st Grade Teacher at Mount Auburn Preparatory Academy in Cincinnati, Ohio. The role focuses on delivering a superior education for all students through engaging curriculum and fostering a positive classroom environment that prioritizes learning and social‑emotional development.
Responsibilities- Prepare and deliver lesson plans, modifying them as needed during the school year.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.
- Utilize research‑based best practices in daily planning and classroom instruction.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom.
- Create a positive classroom environment for learning.
- Use school‑approved curricula that reflect diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds.
- Implement school‑wide culture expectations and norms.
- Communicate with families about their child’s academic and social‑emotional growth.
- Incorporate technology skills into daily classroom practice to support learning.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of non‑instructional activities, as needed.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Active and current Ohio teaching license in the appropriate content area.
- Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
- Comfortable working in a growth‑focused coaching environment with frequent observations, debriefs, actions plans, and progress monitoring.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage confidential information appropriately.
- Capability to supervise students of various ages in different school settings (e.g., playground, cafeteria).
- Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks.
- Experience working within an urban environment.
Compensation
Salary range: $44,000 – $53,500. Pay may vary based on geography, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.
