Special Education Student Assistant

Job Description

Norwood City School District has several full‑time Student Assistant Aide openings at Williams Avenue Elementary, Norwood View Elementary and Norwood High School. Positions involve either working with students in a specialized classroom environment or providing 1:1 support to a particular student.

• Assist teachers in delivering instructional materials to students in special education settings.
• Provide one‑to‑one support to students as assigned.
• Maintain a positive and supportive classroom environment.
• Assist with behavioral management and classroom organization.
• Support students' academic progress and monitor attendance.

• Starting pay: $18.75 per hour.
• Full‑time, 9‑month position during the school year with year‑round payment.
• Hours:
  
  7:30 am‑3:00 pm or 8:00 am‑3:30 pm (7 hours/day, 5 days/week).
• Benefits: medical and dental insurance; fully‑paid term life insurance; preloaded medical benefit card; 3 personal leave days per school year; 1.25 sick leave days accrued monthly; attendance incentive $250 per quarter plus $500 for perfect attendance; 9 paid holidays.
