Job Overview

The College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Cincinnati seeks an experienced, motivated, and student-focused Senior Admissions Counselor. In this role, you will guide prospective students through the college search and application process, share the breadth of our programs, highlight the value of a liberal arts education, and showcase the experiences that make our college a destination for discovery and growth.

You will represent the college at high‑school visits, college fairs, community outreach programs, and on‑campus events. This hybrid position requires three days per week in the office on UC’s Uptown Campus and two days working remotely.

Essential Functions
  • Serve as a senior representative of the College of Arts and Sciences to ensure enrollment goals are met while maintaining fiscal responsibility.
  • Act as a primary resource for prospective students, families, counselors, and community partners interested in Arts and Sciences programs.
  • Develop and implement initiatives that showcase the breadth and value of an Arts and Sciences education.
  • Make data‑driven decisions to coordinate and execute travel, including college fairs, middle/high school visits, community organizations, and community colleges.
  • Manage assigned geographic and/or programmatic recruitment territories for the College of Arts and Sciences.
  • Maintain strong relationships with schools, counselors, community‑based organizations, community colleges, and other partners to support enrollment priorities.
  • Travel extensively during key time periods (8–12 weeks in the fall and 3–6 weeks in the spring) and work evenings, weekends, and non‑traditional hours as needed.
  • Maintain and utilize information about prospective students, schools, organizations, and recruitment markets to advise, encourage, and support students from first inquiry through application, admission, and enrollment.
  • Support strategic enrollment priorities, including expanding college access and representation among underrepresented, high‑achieving, transfer, out‑of‐state, and international students.
  • Implement and clearly explain admissions policies and procedures to students and families.
  • Coordinate specialized programmatic areas that advance recruitment goals, such as on‑campus/off‑campus events, student ambassador/tour guide programs, outreach and access initiatives, communications and marketing, transfer recruitment, or community partnerships.
  • Oversee special projects and cross‑functional initiatives, collaborating with college units, Central Admissions, regional campuses, strategic initiatives teams, and other campus partners.
  • Serve as a peer leader and mentor for Admissions Counselors and other recruitment team members, assisting with onboarding, training, sharing best practices, and supporting consistent recruitment practices across the team.
  • Evaluate applications for admission to the College of Arts and Sciences and make holistic, well‑informed decisions that align with enrollment goals and uphold university standards of fairness and accuracy.
  • Use a Customer Relationship Management system to track interactions, maintain records, prepare reports, and analyze data to inform future recruitment planning and strategy.

Required Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree
Required Trainings / Certifications
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable record.
  • Some positions may require a valid passport.
Required Experience
  • Three (3) years of relevant experience.
Additional Qualifications Considered
  • Three (3) years of relevant college admissions and recruitment experience.
  • Experience with Slate or other CRM software.
  • Past tour guide or admissions student worker experience.
  • Comfort with public speaking to both small and large groups.
  • Desire to use data to help manage a recruitment strategy.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
  • Office environment; no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $50,000 – $53,000 based on qualifications and experience.
