On a part‑time limited basis, the Adjunct Faculty member’s primary academic functions include teaching Mathematics and/or Statistics courses to a diverse set of students. The Department of Mathematical Sciences is committed to excellence in teaching and engaging in active learning and instructional innovation.
Essential Functions- Teach undergraduate Mathematics and/or Statistics courses on a part‑time basis as part of a faculty course team, typically in person on the Uptown West campus.
- Participate in course‑team meetings, meetings, and common tasks supporting the team coordinated course.
- Respond in a timely manner to all university‑related communications.
- Master’s degree in Mathematics or Statistics, or a Master’s degree in any discipline with at least 18 credit hours of graduate‑level coursework in Mathematics or Statistics.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex material to students unfamiliar with the subject.
- Ability to work and collaborate with individuals from a variety of backgrounds.
