The Instructional Aide – Paraprofessional (0.375 FTE) supports classroom teaching under guidance of teachers and administrators. The paraprofessional provides instructional, clerical, and supervisory assistance, assists with classroom operations, student engagement, material preparation, and non‑instructional supervision. The role promotes a well‑managed, inclusive learning environment, ensuring equitable access to instructional content and supporting school‑wide events while upholding district safety and confidentiality standards.
Responsibilities- Assist teachers and administrators with instructional, clerical, and supervisory duties.
- Help with classroom operations, student engagement, and materials preparation.
- Provide non‑instructional supervision to maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Ensure students have equitable access to instructional content.
- Support school‑wide events and activities.
- Uphold district standards for safety, confidentiality, and collaboration.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ohio Paraprofessional License or eligibility for certification through the Ohio Department of Education.
- Preferred:
Associate degree. - Title 1 funding: must meet ESSA requirements (associate degree or higher, or 48 semester hours of college coursework, or approved paraprofessional assessment).
- Successful completion of applicable training (e.g., CPR/First Aid, Crisis Prevention).
- Prior experience working with students or in school settings preferred.
- Excellent working knowledge of Excel, Word, Internet, and PowerPoint.
- Experience operating office and media equipment.
3 hours per day, 5 days per week (184 days per school year). Starting at $18.52 per hour, determined by experience on the Lakota salary schedule.
