The University of Cincinnati Department of Rehabilitation, Exercise, and Nutrition Sciences is seeking a full‑time tenure‑track faculty member to contribute to research, teaching, and service. This 9‑month appointment will have rank commensurate with education and experience. Preferred start date is August 2026, but a later date is possible.
The department offers graduate programs in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Athletic Training, Nutrition Sciences, and a PhD in Health & Rehabilitation Sciences, and an undergraduate Health Sciences program with several pre‑professional concentrations.
Essential Functions- Advance a personal research agenda, teach in relevant content areas, and serve the Department and College of Allied Health Sciences. Research activity includes pursuing funding, mentoring students, and disseminating research findings.
- Develop courses, provide primary instruction of didactic courses, participate in student recruitment, retention, admissions activities, program committee work, accreditation tasks, and other assignments as directed by the Department Chair.
- Teaching responsibilities will be primarily in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. Scholarship is central, but teaching and service activities are required as per faculty evaluative criteria.
- A doctoral degree (e.g., PhD, EdD, DPT).
- ABD candidates acceptable, but degree must be completed prior to start date.
- Ohio Physical Therapy license or Ohio eligible.
- At least two years of teaching experience at the college level or equivalent.
- Equivalent of at least two years of relevant full‑time work‑related experience.
- Evidence of work toward establishing a defined line of research.
- Recent peer‑reviewed publications and scholarly productivity.
- Record of or potential for future extramural grant funding.
- Plans for continued scholarly activity including pursuit of external research funding.
- Current knowledge and skill in the use of computer technology and educational learning management systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills: communication, problem solving, conflict management, and follow‑through.
- Interest and ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.
- Doctorate or terminal degree from a regionally accredited institution in a field appropriate to the position. For positions in Performing and Studio Arts or Nursing, an appropriate Master’s degree may replace the Doctoral requirement.
- Post‑professional doctoral degree (e.g., PhD, EdD).
- Evidence of an active research program as primary investigator.
- Established research agenda with a sustainable record of dissemination, including an average of 1–2 peer‑reviewed publications per year and national presentations.
- Evidence of previous research applications, preference for funded external grants.
- Post‑doctoral research training or similar formal post‑degree research training (e.g., fellowship).
- Clinical or teaching experience in pediatrics or geriatrics.
- Experience mentoring student research projects.
- Active participation in professional activities at local, state, and/or national levels.

- Salary: $88,000.
