Job Summary

Adjunct Instructor:
Introduction to Health and Wellness (EXSC 110) – part‑time, non-tenure‑track position for the  academic year. Current Xavier University employees must apply through the internal career site by logging into Workday.

• Master’s or terminal degree, or have completed at least 18 graduate credit hours, in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, Nutrition, Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or Motor Behavior.
• OR have a minimum of 5 years experience in the exercise science field and a relevant certification, and/or previous teaching experience at an accredited college or university.
• Preferred: experience related to foundational concepts of health and wellness that contribute to a healthy and fulfilling life. Course content includes ethical, moral, and spiritual reflections of socially relevant health issues.

• Deliver in‑person learning‑centered instruction, establishing a classroom environment conducive to learning and student involvement.
• Effectively plan and prepare for classes and student success.
• Prepare all course materials and lessons, including a clear syllabus describing course expectations.
• Provide appropriate course assessments designed to assess student learning in connection with Xavier’s Core Curriculum.
• Use Canvas to provide course information and maintain an electronic record of student progress on a regular basis.

This position will include teaching a single three‑credit‑hour class on Tuesday and Thursday from 11:00AM to 12:45PM.

Start date:

8/17; end date: 12/11. Contracts for adjunct faculty members are issued on a semester basis.
