Assistant/Associate Professor Tenure Track - Physical Therapy Program

The University of Cincinnati (UC) Department of Rehabilitation, Exercise, and Nutrition Sciences is searching for a full-time tenure-track faculty member who will contribute to the department's research, teaching, and service missions. This is a 9-month appointment with rank commensurate with education and experience. The preferred start date is August 2026 but a later date is possible. The department is housed in the new Health Sciences Building located on the UC Medical Campus.

Essential Functions

• Advancing a personal research agenda
• Teaching in relevant content areas
• Service to the Department of Rehabilitation, Exercise, and Nutrition Sciences and College of Allied Health Sciences

Minimum Requirements

• A doctoral degree (e.g. PhD, EdD, DPT)
• Ohio Physical Therapy license (or Ohio eligible)
• Demonstration of teaching experience of at least two years at the college level or equivalent
• An equivalent of at least 2 years of relevant full-time work-related experience
• Evidence of work toward establishing a defined line of research
• Recent peer-reviewed publications and scholarly productivity
• Record of or potential for future extramural grant funding
• Demonstrable plans for continued scholarly activity including the pursuit of external research funding
• Current knowledge and skill in the use of computer technology and educational learning management systems
• Strong interpersonal skills including communication, problem solving, conflict management, and follow-through
• Interest and ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team

Additional Qualifications Considered

• Post professional doctoral degree (e.g. PhD, EdD)
• Evidence of an active research program as primary investigator
• Established research agenda with sustainable record of dissemination
• Evidence of previous research applications (internal or external), with a preference for funded external grants
• Post-doctoral research training (or similar formal post-degree research training e.g. fellowship)
• Clinical or teaching experience in pediatrics or geriatrics
• Experience mentoring student research projects
• Active in professional activities at local, state, and/or national levels
