Reports To: Assistant Principal (School Day) and Director of Youth & Community Programs (Out-of-School Time)
Schedule: Full-time, 8-5, hourly
Pay: $15-$17/hour

Position SummaryThe Youth Development Associate plays a unique and vital role in the educational experience at Cincinnati Urban Promise by supporting students throughout their entire day. During the school day, this position serves as an instructional assistant, working alongside classroom teachers to provide academic support, reinforce instruction, and foster a positive learning environment. During after school and summer programming, the Youth Development Associate transitions into a leadership role, facilitating enrichment activities, mentoring students, and helping create engaging experiences that extend learning beyond the classroom.
This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about education, enjoy building meaningful relationships with children, and believe learning happens throughout the entire day-not just during classroom instruction.

The Youth Development Associate provides consistency, stability, and encouragement as students transition between the classroom and out-of-school-time programming. Primary Responsibilities School Day Instructional Support- Support classroom teachers in delivering engaging, high-quality instruction.
- Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce academic concepts.
- Assist with differentiated instruction and classroom interventions.
- Prepare instructional materials and classroom resources.
- Help maintain a positive, organized, and productive learning environment.
- Support classroom management and positive student behavior.
- Supervise students during transitions, meals, recess, specials, and other school activities.
- Collaborate with teachers to meet the individual needs of students.
- Lead engaging after school and summer enrichment activities.
- Facilitate academic support, homework assistance, recreation, arts, STEM, leadership activities, and project-based learning experiences.
- Build meaningful relationships with students and encourage positive character development.
- Create a welcoming, inclusive, and energetic program environment.
- Assist with field trips, special events, clubs, and community service projects.
- Encourage student participation, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving.
- Serve as a positive role model for students.
- Build trusting relationships that promote confidence, resilience, and belonging.
- Support students' social-emotional development through encouragement, consistency, and positive interactions.
- Communicate concerns regarding student well-being to appropriate leadership.
- Celebrate student accomplishments and encourage continuous growth.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and youth development staff.
- Support organizational initiatives and special events.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development.
- Contribute ideas that improve programming and student engagement.
- Help create continuity between school-day instruction and out-of-school-time programming.
- Maintain a safe, welcoming, and well-supervised environment.
- Follow all licensing, school, and organizational policies.
- Ensure students remain appropriately supervised during all activities and transitions.
