Role Mission
IDEA Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers will instruct 7th-10th grade students in Arts and Communication Career Development. All IDEA CTE teachers are responsible for ensuring that every IDEA student masters the academic and social skills necessary to succeed in college and career. In addition, they set ambitious goals for student achievement and invest students and families in accomplishing them; create a powerful learning environment;
plan and deliver purposeful, rigorous instruction; assess for mastery and track student progress toward goals; analyze data to intervene and adjust instruction; and seek excellence as an educator and an IDEA team member.
We are seeking an entrepreneurially minded educator interested in building an Arts and Communication CTE program from the ground floor. The ideal candidate has a deep passion and conviction for the arts—an educator who will show students how the worlds of art designers, performers and media artists intersect historically, culturally and aesthetically. Students will learn the basics of performance, design, audio and video through the analysis and creation of print media, photographs, news stories, videos and other products common to the visual, media and performing arts industries.
Other course responsibilities may include Career Explorations, Performing Arts Primer, Dance, Musical Theatre, and Choreography.
- The starting teacher salary for 0 years of experience is $51,500, with increased compensation commensurate with experience and advanced degree attainment. This role is eligible for various stipends based on certifications, credentials, and campus leadership ranging from $500 to $4,000 each. - Additional hourly compensation is provided for leading approved after‑school tutoring or Saturday school, if applicable.
- Paid Family Leave:
Eligible staff may receive up to 8 weeks of paid leave for the birth or adoption of a child, based on tenure and caregiver designation. - Tuition Reimbursement:
Staff members may apply for up to 50% of tuition paid toward a qualifying degree program, up to $5,250 maximum per year subject to manager discretion and budget availability. - Employer‑Paid Mental/Behavioral Health: 5 face‑to‑face counseling sessions within a year, unlimited 24/7 telephonic counseling, and other work‑life services available at no cost.

You Bring – Competencies Qualifications
- High level of content‑area proficiency as evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four‑year educational institution required.
- Experience in a K-12 classroom setting strongly preferred.
- Existing Ohio professional teacher certification preferred but not required. Non‑traditional candidates can receive support applying for alternative educator licensure and/or long‑term substitute licensure with no impact on compensation or benefits eligibility in the role.
- Expert‑level knowledge of core academic subject(s) assigned.
- Knowledge of pedagogical best practices, curriculum, and instruction.
- Strong ability to build student engagement and manage student behavior through positive reinforcement, restorative practices, and least invasive techniques.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to a multitude of situations in the school environment.
- Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations.
