Role Mission:
All IDEA teachers are responsible for ensuring that every IDEA student masters the academic and social skills necessary to succeed in college and beyond. IDEA teachers set ambitious goals for student achievement and invest in students and families to accomplish them, create a powerful learning environment, plan and deliver purposeful, rigorous instruction, assess for mastery and track student progress toward goals, analyze data to intervene and adjust instruction, and seek excellence as an educator and an IDEA team member.

• The starting teacher salary for 0 years of experience is $51,500, with increased compensation commensurate with experience and advanced degree attainment. This role is eligible for various stipends based on certifications, credentials, and campus leadership ranging from $500 to $4,000 each.
• Additional hourly compensation is provided for leading approved after‑school tutoring or Saturday school, if applicable.

• Paid Family Leave:
  Eligible staff may receive up to 8 weeks of paid leave for the birth or adoption of a child, based on tenure and caregiver designation.
• Tuition Reimbursement:
  Staff may apply for up to 50% of tuition toward a qualifying degree program, up to $5,250 maximum per year, subject to manager discretion and budget availability.
• Employer‑Paid Mental/Behavioral Health: 5 face‑to‑face counseling sessions within a year, unlimited 24/7 telephonic counseling, and other work‑life services provided at no cost.

• High content‑area proficiency evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year institution required.
• Experience in a K‑12 classroom setting strongly preferred.
• Existing Ohio professional teacher certification preferred but not required; non‑traditional candidates can receive support applying for alternative licensure.

• Expert knowledge of core academic subject(s) assigned.
• Knowledge of pedagogical best practices, curriculum, and instruction.
• Strong ability to build student engagement and manage behavior through positive reinforcement, restorative practices, and least‑invasive techniques.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to a multitude of situations in the school environment.

• Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations.
• Learn, master, and deliver relevant content and grade‑level curriculum, core content objectives, and texts.
• Submit weekly content plans for feedback.
• Receive and respond to feedback aligned with IDEA’s rubric for lesson preparation, execution, culture, responsiveness to student data, and professionalism.
• Maintain a “Common Board” configuration that highlights key components of your daily lesson(s).
• Implement formative and summative assessments to track each student’s progress and learning needs, adjust plans, and update the gradebook weekly.
• Communicate student progress with students and families weekly.
• Use technology to facilitate communication and education, improving student achievement and managing tasks.
• Execute classroom‑level implementation of the school’s consistent behavior management system to develop students’ character and community sense.
• Lead implementation of Multi‑Tiered Systems of Support, document student learning and conduct needs, provide evidence‑based interventions, analyze data, and collaborate with the school‑level MTSS team.
• Report student learning trends via mechanisms such as Exit Ticket Trackers, Data Huddles, Data Boards, and Work Analysis Meetings.
• Help shape a school‑wide culture that fosters a productive and enthusiastic learning environment.
