MTSS Math Support Specialist (Grades 68) at Cincinnati College Preparatory Academy (CCPA) – Cincinnati, Ohio
Cincinnati College Preparatory Academy is seeking a dedicated and student-centered MTSS Math Support Specialist to provide targeted mathematics intervention for students in grades 6–8 who require additional academic support.
Working within the school's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework, the MTSS Math Support Specialist will collaborate with teachers, administrators, intervention staff, and families to improve student achievement through data-driven instruction, individualized intervention plans, and ongoing progress monitoring. This position plays an essential role in helping students strengthen foundational math skills, close learning gaps, and achieve academic success.
Responsibilities- Provide targeted small-group and one-on-one math interventions for students in grades 6–8.
- Implement evidence-based instructional strategies aligned with Ohio Learning Standards.
- Use assessment data to identify student needs and develop individualized intervention plans.
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions based on performance data.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to coordinate instructional support and intervention strategies.
- Participate as an active member of the school's MTSS Team.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, intervention services, and assessment results.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student growth and intervention goals.
- Support the development of a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
- Attend MTSS meetings, professional development sessions, and other school meetings as required.
- Experience working with middle school students (grades 6–8) preferred.
- Knowledge of MTSS, Response to Intervention (RTI), or intervention frameworks preferred.
- Strong understanding of mathematics instruction and intervention strategies.
- Ability to analyze assessment data and use it to guide instruction.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to supporting the academic success of all students.
- Strong instructional and classroom management skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
- Experience using student performance data to inform instructional decisions.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency with educational technology and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.
